The Form Grows Organically

Yesterday afternoon I decided to revisit my childhood and had a Chibi Maruko Chan marathon. I borrowed the dvd from a friend ages ago. What else to do on a Sunday afternoon? However, I've never been a fan of passive television watching. Such activity calls for multitasking. As a result, I have a semi-finished version of the doodle I started two weeks ago. I also finished 42 episodes of Maruko Chan - not so bad considering each episode was only 10 minutes.

Sketching with Harmony

I'm currently reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I know I'm a little late on the subject but this novel is a great read. Its weird, twisted, suspenseful, and very well written. And, not to mention, I am in love with the idea of a world with two moons. It's such an unnerving and beautiful imagery.

I created the sketch with Harmony, a online sketching tool. Its a wonderful idea and very simple to use. I spent hours playing with. More doodles to come.

Doodle on down time

Swirls are often my choice subject for doodling because I never know what form they may take. Of course, my notebook is littered with these doodles - none of them finished. I wonder what the finished doodle would look like. Then again, maybe doodles are not meant to be "finished". I will attempt to "finish" this particular one. Just to see where it goes.

Red Moon

Happy Lunar New Year! Speaking of which, I'm so fascinated by the red moon phenomenon, also known as a lunar eclipse. The red hue makes the otherwise serene looking moon menacing and unforgiving.I also recently learned this fun fact: The difference between an insane person and a lunatic has to do with the origin of mental imbalance. Insanity of an insane person is innate whereas lunacy is induced by the moon.
